Before you start
You need an accepted alpha invitation. If you have not done that yet, start with Accept your invitation: it is what gives you access to the download page.
Installation steps
- Open the download page from the confirmation email you received after accepting your invitation.
- Download the macOS installer (a
.dmgfile). - Open the
.dmgfile, then drag Trust6 into your Applications folder. - Launch Trust6 from Applications (or Spotlight).
On first launch
Two things can happen, and both are normal:
- macOS blocks the app. Alpha builds are not yet notarized with Apple, so Gatekeeper may show a warning. The fix is detailed in macOS blocks the app from opening.
- macOS asks for Keychain access. This is expected: the encryption key for your vaults lives in the macOS Keychain, never on disk. Allow access so Trust6 can open your vaults.
On first launch, the app asks you to sign in to your Trust6 account. See Sign in to the app for details.
Updating
During the alpha, updates install the same way as the initial installation: download the new version from the same page, then replace the app in Applications. Your vaults and conversations are preserved: they live in your user folder, not inside the app.
